Pre-cooking and than freezing dinner
How long can you keep cooked frozen food for? My mom makes the best sauce with sausage and meatballs and I have had it frozen for a couple of weeks now (I forgot I even had it). Are the meatballs and sausages still ok to eat? What else is ok to cook & freeze and how long can you keep it for?

Re: Pre-cooking and than freezing dinner
i think any frozen stuff you can keep for a few months! we make soups or chil in the crockpot and freeze it... i make homemade stuffed shells and freeze them, i freeze meat ( ground beef, chicken, pork chops, etc) for months and then take them out to defrost the morning i plan to use them... it makes it sooo easy!

I think 6 months is the rule of thumb
It's still SAFE, it just begins to taste like the freezer after a while...
