Pre-natal Vitamin Question
I went to the dr recently and asked her about OTC pre-natal vitamins compared to the prescription ones. She said not to use the OTC because there is not enough folic acid in them. But when I was at CVS before i checked that back and it was the same amount that was in my prescription
My prescription is $50 a month
Do you think there is a big difference??

Re: Pre-natal Vitamin Question
There is a supplement called "Efecta" that you can buy that supplements the OTC prenatals with the extra folic acid and DHA needed. My Dr. recommended it to me when my insurance wouldn't cover my prenatals.
I wound up eating the expense of the prescription- $116 for a 3 month supply

It is funny that is the same thing my doctor told me. The ones I was taking has less than 1mg of folic acid so she wrote me a prescription to get the proper one.
