Pre Qualified Credit Card Offers

I want to opt out of getting them. There is an 866 # on the bottom of one I received today. I called it and it's an automated system. It must verify the number I am calling from. Gives me my name and addy (I guess I cant do it for DH since phone is in my name ) but then they want me to enter my SSN... I have a problem doing that. Does anyone know if this is legit and the only way to Opt out of CC offers?

I just shred them when they come in....its easier than getting more of them!!

This website has all the info and link on how to opt out of prescreened offers. All you have to do is fill out the form online. Both my DH and I did it and it dramatically reduced the amount of preapproved offers in the mail.

This link will take you directly to where you opt out but I wanted to link to it through the Federal Trade Commission site so you guys know it was legit, you know?

I used this website and haven't gotten a single Capital One card offer--it's a beautiful thing!!!

I could have a forest in my house with all of the paper wasted by that company--I used to get at least one per day!!!
