pre-school fundraisers how much do you do?
DD is in pre school and the big fall fundraiser is next weekend. We are buying a ticket for her to go and I was able to get a donation for the silent auction and i was thinking i'd bake something for the bake sale. They are also looking for volunteers, plus extra donations, plus selling raffle tickets (they gave us 3 books but suggest we sell 2 which would be $50). I really dont want to volunteer as I can't leave DH with both kids at the event and I want to enjoy it with DD. Also, 2 raffle books seems a little excessive. We'll spend money on things once there too.
Is it okay to not do everything? What do parents typically do/not do?
Thanks.

Good Lord, I do not participate in every fundraiser my kids came home with. If I did, me and my entire family would be broke. You do whatever you can. They ask for everything, because if they didn't, they would never raise any funds, but I don't think parents are expected to participate in every single thing.

My DS daycare has a few and I just do what I can and if I can't I don't sweat it.

Wow, that's a lot! My DD is in preschool 2 half days a week and we just had a fundraiser sent home with cookie dough, frozen pretzels and all kinds of junk. They wanted each child to sell 20 items (they were $12-25 each). Uhh I don't think so :) Knowing the preschool probably gets a $1 or $2 for each item I skipped it and just wrote a check for $20.

Re: pre-school fundraisers how much do you do?
for my son's preschool, part of the "contract" is that each child has to get $100 of fundraising money during the year. you can get it by selling stuff, or you can just write a check for $100 and be done with it. I usually buy a few things that I need/want during the year, so I can chip away at my fundraising requirement. They do those KidStuff Coupon books- so I get one of those because I use a lot of coupons... and then they do another frozen pizza one. I get a few of those, too because we have to eat anyway LOL and they're good to have on hand. other than that... i just do what i can. I don't want to bug my family or friends, and they can't expect me to. haha

Me too.
We stretch ourselves financially just to send him there because it is so good -- so we do what we can but realize that the majority of people who go there have a lot more money than us we po'! haha So I do what I can.
We received an invite recently to a gala they are having and it's like hundreds of dollars a ticket and omg LOL I was like wow!
