I've only used the applicator kind (I think it comes in a lube tube as well).
You basically just squirt it up your "area" and DTD.

I haven't used it in a while, but if I remember correctly - the instructions have you squeeze it up and then wipe the "excess".
Also, if I remember correctly, it was pretty good

I used the applicator kind. Some of it did leak out but I just wiped it.

me either, i found it to be way too much. i also found it to be a little uncomfortable because it felt so COLD
