Preeclampsia...anyone?
Did anyone have preeclamsia during their pregnancy or did your doctor think you may have it? My doctor thinks its a possibility I may develop this and now I am a nervous wreck. Anyone?

Re: Preeclampsia...anyone?
I had preclamsia. You must stay away for high sodium foods!!!! and drink a lot of water. I delivered Julia 2 weeks early because of it. I was VERY swollen and my DH said I should go to the doctor that I didnt look right, and I went in and sure enough it was high (my blood pressure), so my doctor made me go home and stay in bed, and have a very simple meal, just grilled chicken and a salad plain, and to see how I am in the morning, well I was the same very swollen, so he told me to go over to the hospital and I had Julia that evening, C-section. Dont be nervous, as long as your doctor is on top of it they will make sure everything is ok, and will do whats best for you and your baby. If u need anymore info feel free to FM me.

Re: Preeclampsia...anyone?
My OB's were concerned both times but I was OK. Just keep a look out for the signs. The only thing I didn't have was a lot of protein in the urine and high blood pressure. I had everything else though.

Re: Preeclampsia...anyone?
I was sent to the hospital to be induced at 37 weeks 4 days when I went in for my doc appointment and my blood pressure which had been rising for 3 weeks hit 150/110 and I had protein in my urine (pre-e signs)...my whole face was distorted by the swelling and my doc wasn't taking any chances...
Just know your body and make sure you tell the doc of anything that changes with you like dizziness and headaches...

Re: Preeclampsia...anyone?
I developed Toxemia immediately after my c-section. Toxemia is similar to Preeclampsia but it occurs after delivery.
While I was in recovery I remember lying on the gurney and sweating to death. My bp was super high and I kept getting sick to my stomach. My heart was pounding so hard I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I had to be on an iv of mag sulfate for two days to keep me from going into seziures and that made me really loopy. I barely remember the first day after I had Kevin.
Although finding out you may have preeclampsia is scary its much better to find out early rather than go through what I did.
I hope everything turns out ok!

Re: Preeclampsia...anyone?
I had it.....when I went to my last doctors appt my blood pressure was 154/113 and I had protein in my urine. My face was distorted from all the swelling too....he sent me over to the hospital and I had Kerri the next day.
I had a mild form of it throughout pregnancy...bad swelling and blood pressure up and down...
