Preemie Moms
DD is taking 20CCs by bottle but gets sleepy. How many weeks did it take before DC was taking a full bottle. Yes I am anxious to have her home

Re: Preemie Moms
I replied to your post on pregnancy board, but I am not sure exactly when he progressed from 20 ccs to30 but it litterally happened suddenly. ds was born at 4lbs 6 oz and was 5lbs 1/2 oz when he was released 10 days later. your dd seens to be gaining nicely. Don't worry she'll get the hang of it

Re: Preemie Moms
I believe we took her home when she was at 45 cc's (which I belive is 1.5 oz). If she is falling asleep...try to undress her or tickle her feet or something to wake her up.
I agree with the above poster...she seems to be gaining nicely, so it's just a waiting game...I KNOW how hard it is.
DD was 4lbs 2oz when born...lost some and then gained back up to her birth weight...she came home from the hospital at 4lbs 2oz.

Re: Preemie Moms
Gosh my ds had such issues with eatin so we went very slowly on the feeds. I think they only need to eat 45cc's every 3 hours bc that is the same calories as 60ccs (2 ounces) every 4 hours. As the other poster said undress your dc poke her feet, take off her hat. I saw with so many babies that the light just goes on and they eat no problems and then go home. Keep up the great work mommy you are doing a fantastic job. What hospital is your dc in. We were in Winthrop.
