They usually hook you up to the monitor just to watch the baby and check your urine and BP.

Re: preggers crashing with a quick question?
I did. A few I think.
I'm pretty sure this was the test where they hook you up to a heart monitor and they are able to tell if you are having any contractions. If you are having contractions they will know if they are mild or not.
I believe they were also able to check the fluid levels with a sono after this test.
I'm pretty sure what I had done was a biophysical, someone can correct me if I'm wrong

Yes. They will do a sono to check for fluid levels, etc. Then they will hook you up to a monitor for awhile and keep track of baby's heart rate and see if you are having any contractions. Its a bit boring, but painless. I had many of them.

Re: preggers crashing with a quick question?
A biophysical is a sonogram followed by a non stress test. In the sonogram they are looking for specfic things like practice breathing ( they need to see them take a certain amount of breaths in a certain time period) , fluid levels and they give everything a number , and they fail or pass the baby on the BPP based on that score... even failing though is not always a huge reason for concern. ( I failed a few times when the baby was sleepy, and not practice breathing, and when my fluid level went up....but I still had a healthy baby) Then they do a non stress test usually where they put the monitors on you to record the babys heart rate for a certain tome period.

Yes, and in the BPP they also measure blood flow through the placenta and in parts of the baby's body (i.e. brain, etc.). They can do some measurements as well but it may be hard b/c your baby is full term. If they are concerned about anything they can send you to be induced. I'd be keeping my hospital bags with me anyway at this point if I was you! Good luck!

Re: preggers crashing with a quick question?
I had a few. They measure for 5 things, practicing breathing, movement, fluid, not sure the others. My DD scored fine but it took her awhile b/c she was sleepy
They are just checking to make sure your DC isn't under any "stress"
