Preggo and job changes POLL

Probably not the best time to think about it but....

If you knew you were most likely not returning to the same workplace after DC was born:

Re: Preggo and job changes POLL

You can call up some of the jobs you are interested in and tell them your situation and see even if they would take you, b/c of you being preggo see how the benefits work

Or

Just wait for the little baby to come out then start looking...

Re: Preggo and job changes POLL

I pray and hope I can find something else while I'm on maternity leave. I've already started updating my resume and getting my professional references together. I will post my resume on job boards and start targeting specific companies a week or two after I have the baby.

I started my new job while pregnant and got a better leave package here than I would have at the old place.Chat Icon

Re: Preggo and job changes POLL

I thought about it but decided against it. I have benefits and FMLA. I am doing my career change after the baby is born.

Exactly what Im thinking. Better health benefits for my family too.

Did you tell them you were pregnant when you applied/interviewed?

I started a job in Jan, I'm due in July. They still wanted to hire me and I get full benefits so why would I wait. I think each job is unique, but if you want a new job start the search now, you might find a great one!

Re: Preggo and job changes POLL

I'm changing after the baby is born because I don't want to lose my health benefits or my FMLA. DH has open enrollment for his insurance 2 months after the baby is born.

You know what you are right and from your story you just inspired me. I found some great jobs online it won't hurt to put my resume out thereChat Icon

Re: Preggo and job changes POLL

I would probably wait - but just FYI - you do not have to tell anyone that you are pregnant and it is illegal for them to ask you about it!
