Im def going to try to stay away from certain things like bleach, but what else?

I never changed anything. I still used bleach, just made sure I had a lot of windows open.

Re: pregnancy and cleaning...

1st pregnancy, I was more cautious. This one, if I don't clean then it'll never get done, so I've changed nothing.

Re: pregnancy and cleaning...

Just pretty much products with bleach. It's not really good for my asthma anyway when I'm not pregnant let alone for the baby when I am. DH took over the cleaning that used bleach - ie: tub & bathroom cleaning.

Re: pregnancy and cleaning...

I still clean with bleach from time to time, but I make sure the central air and ceiling fans are on. I wouldn't use anything stronger.

Re: pregnancy and cleaning...

you don't have to stay away from bleach, i asked my OB.

just make sure it doesn't touch your hands (it never should whether pregnant or not!) and use gloves. you should always clean in a well ventilated area, so being pregnant is no different.

bending over to clean is another story...i'd never get up!Chat Icon

Re: pregnancy and cleaning...

I haven't changed the cleaning products I use. I clean a lot slower which drives me crazy but what can I do... I clean the tub and tiles with a sponge mop so I don't have to bend and reach as much. I always make sure the windows are open even before I was preggo.

Re: pregnancy and cleaning...

i stayed away from certain things more because the smell got to me... though i did stay away from items with triclosin in it... which is in some antibacterial soaps, even hand soaps... i have doen research when i was back in college and it can cause thyroid issues so i would rather avoid ythat

Re: pregnancy and cleaning...

I clean as I always did, I'm just more aware of making sure there is ventilation (esp. when I use bleach). I also spend it out over days instead of doing it all Saturday/Sunday mornings the way I used to

Re: pregnancy and cleaning...

I cleaned with mostly vinager and water when I was pregnant and still now. Occasionally I used bleach with gloves for things like the toliet bowl. I also used greenworks products for certain things. Vinager and water works like a charm, it is great for windows and mirrors two.
