Pregnancy + Bathroom Renovations=

...potential for disaster!

We finally started (or, the contractor did) on Thursday. Moving right along, I came home Friday with a huge headache, super tired and having to pee (of course!). The water was still off, and since it was 3:30 I figured that they'd pack it in soon. Since I had to go so badly I went to Kohls and did a little shopping. At 5:30 they were still working, and one of the guys comes down and tells us that something was wrong and they couldn't get the water back on.

So we packed up the dog and went to a hotel. It was actually a blessing in disguise because we got to shower (we have only 1 full bath) and relax, and the place was really nice (and most importantly, dog friendly, since there was no way we were leaving him home).

Yesterday we got home, and the water was working. BUT we went down to the city for a college friend's birthday, and when we got home we realized that the toilet's not flushing right, so we have to dump water into it to help it along. I think we may go to a hotel again...

I feel your pain. That's BS about having to continually go to a hotel. They should restore water every day before they leave and make sure the toilet works.

The "stairs guy" was supposed to come yesterday at 8 am to replace the basement stairs Long story short, we left for Lamaze class while my FIL waited for him. TWO hours later we track him down, he's not coming, supplies not ready BS, he lied... he didn't finish another job.

When did he finally show up?... 1:30 today after NUMEROUS phone calls
So much for going to BRU and getting mattresses and buying a video camera. He inconvienced us so we've already decided we are not paying him the full amount today. Let him come back for it.

If he doesn't finish by dinner tonight I will cut off his weenie. My general contractor comes tomorrow so this must be done.
