Pregnancy Hormones?

Just wondering how many of us feel like we're suffering from pregnancy hormones?

My problem (at least right now) is that I'm really POed at DH and I don't know whether I'm justified or its just a hormone thing.

I think when its hormones you realize (eventually) that you are being unreasonable, but I actually can't sleep b/c of our fight and even now hours later I can't figure out if I'm crazy or right.

In either case -- can't I just play the preggo card and get him to give in????

Re: Pregnancy Hormones?

Yes, I truly believe that pregnancy hormones play a factor in how *emotional* a situation can get. I found that ESPECIALLY in the beginning, run-of-the-mill disagreements would (to me) escalate into these crying jags where I'd really get my feelings hurt. Later, I'd realize I often overreacted.

However, I don't think it's fair to *play the hormone* card to get DH to give in. Believe me, do that enough and he'll start to resent you. VERY early on my DH sat me down and told me that while he was thrilled about the baby and loved me more than anything, that the constant need to be on eggshells with me was wearing thin on him.

I straightened that out within me quickly. I realized that I needed to TRY to keep a cool head during a disagreement rather than give into emotional temper tantrums. Often, when I feel like I'm really getting hot, I'll tell him and just leave the situation until we can discuss it later. It took a few attempts, but it really worked.

I am so sorry your feeling wacked out- I know how it is. It sucks to not know if it's hormones or truly justifiable anger.

Hopefully today you'll both have cooled down and be able to compromise on whatever your argument was about.

While I truly believe firmly in the whole pregnancy hormone deal I think Im dealing with a whole slew of other feelings...as are other women.

1st For me there is the lack of sex due to pelvic rest.
2nd I quit smoking
3rd I cant exercise
4th My whole body hurts
5th I feel like the pillsbury dough boy
6th Constant worry that the baby is going to come to early

All this..plus some others...makes one very stressed out women. Add to that the preggo hormones and voila..1 certified basket case!

Well I think I was hit with a double dose of them. I am soooooo emotional that sometimes I wonder how DH can stand to be around me.
