Re: Pregnancy X-Post Infant Car Seats
I'm a little confused... Someone mentioned that your twins should leave the hospital in convertible car seats instead of infant seats because they will be too small for the infant seats???
My DD left the hospital in the Chicco keyfit 30. We brought it up to the hospital, put DD into the seat, strapped her in, and brought her down to the car. That was the policy at the hospital where DD was born. It's a great seat. One of the most popular. I have never heard of a hospital giving anyone a hard time bringing their LO home in a keyfit.

Definitely get the infant car seats. Maybe your mom heard that since babies use them for a short amount of time a convertible seat is better. But especially with twins I would absolutely get the infant seats. They are so much easier. If I'm not mistaken a hospital won't let you leave in a car without a car seat, maybe that's where she's confusing it. But they won't turn you down if your LO is too small. Plus you probably won't be able to take your LOs home until they reach a certain weight. Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!

Thanks! I am sure my mom is confused, but only written evidence will help in this case. I am almost 40, but I will never be right according to her.Which is a topic for another thread.

Re: Pregnancy X-Post Infant Car Seats
I'm thinking maybe your mom got that advice because you can get a convertible and it skip the infant car seat, which would save you money in the long run since you'd only have 1 seat for each child. But the infant carriers with the snap and go was a lifesaver and I couldn't imaging having to move sleeping twins every time you wanted to transfer between house and car.

I don't even know how you'd get to and from the car without infant seats! Sometimes the few minutes that DD was strapped in her seat before we left the house was the only time I could run to the bathroom and to the basement to switch a load of laundry. I would think with two at least you can bring both carseats in and out of the car at the same time and put one down to open the door, etc. If you have to carry the babies without a seat I would think you'll have to leave one in the car or house and find a safe place to put them down to go back for the other. I just think logistically the infant seats will be a lifesaver. I know it was for me just with one!
