Pregnant and called in for Jury Duty

Has anyone been excused because the judge deemed you too pregnant to perform as a juror?

I've just been called as petit juror and will be 8 months if/when they call me in!

Do you think the judge will excuse a woman who's too pregnant? :D

Try to get a note from your doctor. Maybe you can be excused. If you still have to go, and you are a possible candidate, just let the judge know you are Pregnant. I just served a few Weeks ago, and I let the judge know I was pregnant, and was still having M/S. They most likely won't pick you.

Re: Pregnant and called in for Jury Duty

Thanks Allli, I wonder if I should just go in and give them the doctor's note or attach the note to my questionnaire/summon.

I heard that if you go in with the note, they will indicate that you have served so won't be calling you for another few years as opposed to just excusing you for 6 months if you send in the doctor's note with the questionnaire/summon.

I had jury duty about a month ago, I didn't try to get out of it (I was only 5 months) but didn't get picked. Another girl was there who was very pregnant, probably 8 month, and I think they let her leave in the beginning.

If you're 8 months, go in and they'll probably excuse you. And then you've done your duty and won't be called for another few years.
If you just attach the note, they might consider it a postponement, and you could get called again sooner.
