Prenatal suggestions
I'm sure this has been posted sometime ago but I can't seem to locate it. I just got back from the drugstore & was told the cost for a 90 day supply would be $125. A 30 day supply would be $50. This is with insurance. Is this the norm or is it too $$$. I'm thinking of switching to another brand or something. The prescription was for Citracal + DHA. Any suggestions?

Re: Prenatal suggestions
I actually think that can't be right. I have Oxford insurance and the pharmacist said that Oxford didn't cover Citracal with the DHA and I pay $28.50 per month, I am not sure why it is almost double for you.
FYI, I've heard the Target OTC brand is very good as well.

Re: Prenatal suggestions
I get mine from express-scripts.com. the 90 day supply is cheaper than at the drugstore...i think you get one month free that way...
also - i heard someone in front of me at the drugstore once ask that her vitamins not go through insurance bc it comes out more $$ that way. can that be right?

I take citracal with DHA - but I only pay $25 a month for it. It is the most my insurance co makes me pay for something.

I dont know who you have for insurance, I have Empire. I started on PrimaCare One and then switched to Citracal + Dha, both cost me $25 a month

Re: Prenatal suggestions
My dr said you can take any prenatal, including otc & generic store brands. Just make sure to take extra folic acid & calcium if you need to & don't take too much vitamin A
