Prenatal vitamins
When did you start taking prenatal vitamins? Do you have a prescription or did you just take an over the counter vitamin? My mulit-vitamin that I am taking now has 400mg of folic acid. Is that good enough?

Re: Prenatal vitamins
My Dr gave me some but they made me sick and I cannot have the amount of iron in pre natels any longer, so she advised me to take folic acid , b complex and Magnesuim every day to replace.

Re: Prenatal vitamins
I started taking Target's brand of prenatals (they are like the Stewart prenatals) a few months before TTC. I am still taking them...

So do you think a multivitamin is sufficient?

Re: Prenatal vitamins
My gyno gave me 2 different prescriptions for pre natal- ugh I got sick on both severly- throwing up - the works from just taking 1 pill!!! So he wanted me to keep trying different ones until we found the one that works- I told him you are crazy- Im not going through that, I mean I was severly sick- fever vomitting, diahrea I was sooo sick home from work 3 days- so on my own I am taking flinstones chewables and 400 mg of folic acid. I am slowly trying to build up my tolerance for the folic acid to 800 mg, my doctor doesnt know I never called the office back. But Im sure its better than not taking anything.

thats the one that made me sick too!
I tried the CVS brand, was a little better but not much.
A mutli vitamin is very similair, check the folic acid, and my Dr said a mixture of the B vitamins, E , and magnesium work well for TTC, so thats what I take.
