Prenatals
I have been taking one a days (but not everyday) I just got a BFP and am waiting for my doctor to call me back to hopefully see her today. Should I go out and get prenatals on my own - or use the prescription ones? I know there are so many different ones out there - I'm just not sure which one to get.
Sorry if this is a stupid question - I did a search on them and there were so many to choose from.

Re: Prenatals
Continue taking your daily vitamin and then have the Dr. prescribe prenatals at your first visit- that's totally fine.

Re: Prenatals
Most likely, the one s/he prescribes is identical the ones on the shelves. I compared labels in my first pregnancy and was shocked to see they were EXACTLY the same. The main difference in women's multi and prenatals is folic acid. measured in micrograms, youget MORE in prenatals. Oddly, calcium isnt always so great in prenatals!

Re: Prenatals
I'd wait until you see your Dr. you've been taking normal vitamins and a few more days won't even be an issue and if they don't want to see you right away tell them you need a prescription for pre-natals.
CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!! H&H 9 MONTHS!!

Re: Prenatals
When I called for my first appt, I was 4 weeks and the doctor did not want to see me till 8 weeks. I was asked about prenatals and I said I was taking a regular multi. So the nurse got on the phone and told me that she was going to call in a prescription for a prenatal for me. So I was able to start taking them immediately.

Re: Prenatals
Thanks everyone. I am hoping to get in to see my doctor today because I really want to know for sure if this is real or not.
How did you all not go crazy the first couple of days??? My mind is racing.

Honestly? Because 4 tests, and all the other symptoms just can't be wrong. That's how I didn't go crazy!
the best of luck to you!

Re: Prenatals
Don't get too crazy - enjoy it! It's your little secret for now
I would say to make sure you take Folic Acid. You can take that before you even get pregnant - so it's sure to be good for now.
