Re: preschool at daycare center
Absolutely. My daycare/preschool does an excellent job with the curriculum. My son is ready for kindergarten now and still has until Sept. 2011.

Re: preschool at daycare center
YES!!!! My son attends daycare 2 days a week. Parents send their kids to his daycare for the preschool program. After 2 1/2 hours the kids who aren't in daycare go home. The teacher continues to follow a great curriculum for the remainder of the time the "daycare" kids are there. Also, the Pre-k Universal program for the school district is held there too.

Re: preschool at daycare center
FYI if they are licensed by NYS they have to be!! NYS Office of Children and Families has a certain criteria that a preschool teacher must meet.

Re: preschool at daycare center
I think so. Where DS goes they have preschool and a curicculum and the teacher sits at a desk just like the environment they would have at a "real" school.

Re: preschool at daycare center
Glad to read this! I feel guilty that DD might be at a daycare instead of preschool in the fall. However both daycares I am considering do have a set preschool curriculum.

Re: preschool at daycare center
At our daycare, both of the teachers in DS's class have bachelor's degrees and are certified by IL B of Ed to teach preschool/early education.
They have a curriculum that they follow that is approved by state. DS is definitely prepared for Kindergarten in the fall. I am so impressed with how much he knows at 4.5 years old.

Yes, definitely. I am so glad I don't have to deal with all the nursery school BS. My daycare also offers kindergarten.
