Preschool registration
Did anyone have to camp out to make sure there DC's got into the one you wanted? The one we want them to go to has a later registration date than all the rest and if they dont get in, we're screwed. I NEED them to have a morning session bc I will not give up their naps by 3

I didn't have to camp out, but I remember calling and going over to see the school right after New Years 2 years ago. The classes filled up so fast! And the deposit to hold your spot was non-refundable, so if you changed your mind, you were screwed!
This time around, I am lucky, since my DD gets priority registration since my DS is already in the school. We already enrolled her

No not for the 2 yr program but for the 3 yr program it is harder to get the time you want. I already registered Andrew for this Sept in Dec 08.

My cousin is a teacher at a nursery school in Port Washington, and they had their registration in October. She said the registration took place on a Saturday morning, and moms were lined up at 4:30 AM!!  By the time it was over at noon, there were no morning spots left for the 3 & 4 yr. olds, and only a limited amount in the 2 yr. old class. That to me is insane.

Not me. They are sending out the registration papers mid january. Its through the school district, 5 days a week either 8:30 - 11 or 12:30 - 3.

didnt have to camp out but i made sure i found out when registration was. Alot of preschools start registration in Feb...id call and see the earliest time you are able to sign up.

Yeah, I had to get there super-early (well, not camping-out early  ) and was *still* shut out of the am session for the 2s!! I was the first on the waiting list and got in over the summer after someone dropped out. Even the following year when I registered as an "in house" parent, I got there one hour before opening and was the last one in for the am session for the 3s!!
It's crazy!!

i had to camp out for 2 hours before the start and i was #15 in line . got the last spot for the morning 2 year old program. i was 8.5 months pregnant at the time too.
