Preschool-what age to start?

DD will be 2 on Saturday and I am wondering if it is too early to enroll her in preschool. It would be only 2 days a week for a few hours, but I am wondering at that age do they even start teaching them anything or is it more like daycare??

My neice is starting montessori school in October when she turns two. I don't know if that is the type of thing you are looking for, but my SIL thinks that it be good for her to go this young.

I will be starting Andrew when he is 2. It is 2 days a week for 3 hours and then it increases by age.

They teach at daycare too!

There is no long term need for preschool at two, but it can be fun for the kids if they are ready for separation and gives mommy a break, which are good enough reasons for me.

Jacob will be going to toddler program for 3x a week for 2 hours a day..

He already started camp this summer at the same place 2x a week 2 hours a day so he could get acclimated to the environment..

It is not to early to start...

My DD will be turning 2 on 9/7--her first day of playschool. It is only 1 day a week for 2.5 hours. I was kind of hoping it was a 2 day thing though, but the school was highly recommended.

My daughter will be turning two the end of this month, and going to a similar program (once a week/2hrs.). I think she is going to LOVE it.

However, my older child was an entirely different personality, and at this age he did better w/Mommy and Me programs like Gymboree, etc.
