Prescription meds for heartburn
Which do you take & do you feel any side effects? I can't take it anymore. I have tried it all.

Re: Prescription meds for heartburn
I believe you can take Zantac. check with your doctor, maybe they can prescribe something stronger though. I have been taking Tums as needed. Mine hasn't gotten that bad... yet...

Re: Prescription meds for heartburn
Zantac was my lifesaver. You need to take it consistently, though. It's not a short-term fix, it's long-term, so you need it in your system. Tums for immediate relief.

Prescription meds for heartburn
Talk to your doctor. Mine did not care how much I complained, they would not give rx meds. They recommended pepsid complete which worked much better than tums but there were still rough days.

Been using Pepcid AC complete its so much better then tums and less chalky. I take it as I need it but can't take more than 2 in 24 hours.

Re: Prescription meds for heartburn
I had horrible heartburn with both of my kids. Tums did absolutely nothing. Zantac saved me.

Re: Prescription meds for heartburn
neither Zantac or Tums helped me. I just suffered with it. Thankfully it didn't last more than the first trimester. I expected it come back with a vengeance in the 3rd trimester but at 34 weeks I still feel ok.

Re: Prescription meds for heartburn
I had the worst heartburn. It was by far my worst preggo symptom. Tums did nothing--Zantac helped a lot.

Re: Prescription meds for heartburn
Thanks ladies! I have been suffering for months. Now that I am in my 3rd trimester, I'm trying the zantac. I hope it works.
How do you take it? Once in the morning? Even before the heartburn kicks in? Mine kicks in once I start any type of physical work like vacuuming, bending down to pick up toys from the floor, etc. It's usually bad around 5pm- bedtime.
