Present advise for a non parent? Please?
My nephew is turning six and I have a reputation with the kids of always giving the best gifts. My sister has been absolutely no help on ideas.  
He's into sports a little but I did that theme last year. He's the youngest and does spend a fair bit of time alone, he doesn't mind solitary games or toys. The one thing I see him playing with outside of their house most is a styrofoam plane that's on a slingshot...
Any ideas for a six year old boy? Cool things that are all the rage right now?

Remote-control car? They have a huge price range, so you can easily spend whatever you are comfortable with.
It's a solitary toy, and also a group toy.

Spy Gear. My kids go nuts for it.. especially my youngest. They have all sorts of kits and gadgets that let kids annoy and harass their siblings and parents.
