Pretty Wonderful -- Making Strides Against Breast Cancer!

I was just going through the past few days' emails in my inbox and was so happy to read this:


Thank you, thank you, thank you! More than 55,000 people at Jones Beach over 2,000 people at Dowling College marched as one at the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks of Long Island. Together we raised 2.9 MILLION DOLLARS! And donations are still coming in!


I walked on Sunday for my sister Denise who was diagnosed 3 months ago, at age 41 ,with breast cancer. I knew it was packed but in no way did I imagine that there were 55,000 people there!

So WTG everyone who walked
and I hope that the ACS uses the money wisely and gets us closer to a cure!!!!

Wow! 55k? I was there too! I wouldn't have guessed there were that many ppl there!

I guess it all depends on how the walkers were spaced out over the course of the morning/day. I know some people who got there very early and they were done walking by the time I got there to start walking. And the crowds were dizzying while I was walking (started at 9:30) to say the least!

They may factor in the volunteers also for that number --- not sure. Either way it makes me glad that so many people were there supporting the cause on Sunday!
