Prime went up.....
Our rates havent gone up yet. But if anyone is thinking about mortgages Helocs... do it soon LIKE TODAY LOL!

It is killing me that is keeps going up. Our second mortgage is a HELOC and our payments went from $250 a month to over $500 a month.

Why don't you lock it. We have a Home Equity Line that we can lock

Because when we called to lock it the rate was about 8.5 or something (DH called so I don't really know all the details) but honestly at the time the prime was 7.5 and I didn't think it would go that high so fast. Every month it is getting higher and higher. I was hoping it would level off.

The Fed raised a 25 base points yesterday so Prime went to 7.75%. I have a feeling this is not the last rate hike.

I'm sorry guys. Is this a 2nd loan you guys have? We had a second loan w/ an adjustable rate and refinanced a while ago and made it into 1 loan w/ a fixed rate. I guess that was a good thing?

very good idea
Ours started w/ a 4.5% adjustable and then went to over 6%. That's when we refinanced.

I have a second mortgage that gets locked after we made the first payment. I think we are at 7.50..that's ok, it's a small loan. But I'm glad we locked.
