I would fire her not because she made them use buckets, but because her reading comprehension skills are atrocious. I wouldn't want someone that stupid running my school.

You are not talking about the greatest school district here BTW....Student who live in Inglewood come to my school here in Torrace and lie about where they live to avoid this district. Here is a perfect example why.

Not for nothing but I was in elementary school during the Cold War. The relations between the USSR (at the time) and the USA were flat out BAD and some people were always wondering when Russia was going to bomb us with nuclear weapons. I do not remember my elementary school principal making me pee in a bucket and he may have been justified to do so.

Here is CA, due to the earthquakes, each school has an emergency preparedness kit in the classrooms including, these special "bucket" toilets that are like miniature port-a-sans. I am sure there are referring to these in the story. They have weird rules here since the schools are so out in the open. The hallways are all outside. I have been on "lock-down" at my school due to a criminal in the area they are searching for and the students are forced to remain in the room until the all- clear bell rings. I hope that helps explain some details in the story since as a non-California resident I would have really thought it was awful. Basically she was just a dumb-A$$.
