proactiv - thanks
I am thinking about ordering proactiv - but I am always nervous about using new stuff on my face - I have sensitive skin and my face tends to get red from harsh products
Is proactiv harsh? Does it actually work? Do you have to use all three parts for it to work (I hate toners)?
TIA!!
UPDATE- Thanks girls - based on your responses i dont think i will be ordering proactiv. Ill try somethng else first.

Re: proactiv
I loved it (when I had it years ago). It really worked and made my skin perfect.

Re: proactiv
I used it for awhile. You have to use it consistently to see results - so I think you would have to use the toner. I found it stopped working after a few months and switched to Clinique. I love Clinique and find it much gentler.
Personally, I found proactiv a little harsh. In the winter, the most I could use it was once a day, and my skin still dried out horribly.

My skin is very sensitive as well.
It can be harsh if used to frequently...in the winter I would only use it at night...it can dry your skin.
It works!! It really helped clear my skin. I have not been using the last year or so but my skin has changed from I started.
And yes...use all three parts...it's not just a toner...it helps to sooth your skin too!
Good luck!

I thought it was harsh. Why don't you go to a derm. first and see what they recommend?

Re: proactiv
It's the only thing that has worked for me and I have tried everything (Accutane included).

Re: proactiv
I am super sensitive. It made my eyes swell shut And I kept it away from my eye area like the directions said. I found it way too harsh but it works for tons of people.

Re: proactiv
It worked for a while with me but then it got a little to harsh for some reason. I called them and they shipped me a gentle formula set and that was better.

I had similar issues. My eyes got swollen, my skin got really bumpy and red.
It was awful for me. BUT they did take it back without any issue and refunded my money fully.
I have pretty sensitive skin overall - I can't use any detergent that's not free and clear and god forbid if someone uses Snuggle Fabric Softener around me.
I'm even allergic to some toothpastes and nail polishes. So my issue may be slightly more extreme.

I actually went last year and they prescribed retinA and i felt like I was going to scratch my skin off!

Retin A is way too harsh! You should try Duac--ask your dermatologist about it. It's the new acne wonder cream.
Once on a topical cream, I would use Cetaphil cleanser which is very gentle.
If your face gets too dry from topical creams, ask your doc for minocyclin--the best acne antibiotic.

I find that' it's only harsh if you use too much. I've used it for 3 years now, but I'm starting to notice my skin is not responding. I broke out sooo bad the past few days. I've never seen my skin this bad!
