but if you are not planning on breast feeding - do you still need to get a breast pump?

No, if you are not going to bf you do not need a breast pump. If you do not use the milk your body has produced it will stop producing it and the milk that has been produced will dry up.

Definitely don't pump; that's just telling your body that you are BF and you'll continue to produce milk. If you don't do anything, it will dry up on its own; just be prepared for extreme tenderness for from what I understand up to a week after the milk initially comes in and dry up.

No pump needed!! Your milk will come in a few days afetr birth and will stay for about a week. My boobs became very sore, hard, hot and i just iced them on and off everyday for the week. Get a good tight, not too tight, sports bra and wear 24/7. They tell you to take a quick shower and not too hot. And to not put your boobs under the water. It really hurt for about 2 days then thye were just sore and now they are back to normal.
