Product rave- wallpaper steamer
Rented it at Home depot- $27 for 24 hours. Paper came RIGHT off. Still took forever- but WAY better than that DIF stuff. Though the DIF worked great on the glue- just not for the first layer of paper. PLUS- the paper was laid on an unprimed wall.

That's where we used it. textured wallpaper- PAINTED- sooo thick. Nasty. The kitchen is a real PITA- so many random pieces- behind the fridge, the backsplash, ugh. took probably 10 hours. with 2 people!

UGH! I think that's why we're saving ours as the last project. We just had a light fixture installed in our kitchen because the other old crapola one blew a circuit AND the stupid thing wasn't even wired - it plugged in through this stupid chain...ANYWAY...(boy did I get off track), we ended up just tearing one wall down so we could wire it properly and I figured after all the trouble we had with the damn wallpaper in the other room - it was easier to just knock it down.

I'm glad it worked for you...it didn't do anything but make a mess for us. In the end, DIF gel remained our friend LOL

Re: Product rave- wallpaper steamer
Now you tell me after I just finished our office which took me a week of doing a little each day.
Well we still have the kitchen, the hallway and 2 bathrooms with wallpaper. Maybe we will rent the steamer.
Thanks!

This is good to know! We have a LOT of wallpaper to remove in the house we're moving into and want to get it done as quickly as possible (baby due in 3 weeks from our closing date!).
