progesterone shot
I had my second IUI today and the doctor said she wanted me back in a week to check my progesterone. Do I HAVE to? I didn't do that last cycle, I just did the 2ww. This is the first time I ever heard of this. I don't want to miss work unless I HAVE to. What are they looking for?

It's just a quick blood test. Progesterone is also called "the pregnancy hormone". It maintains the pregnancy in the beginning. Progesterone in pregnancy is crucial for the survival of the fetus, it keeps the uterus from contracting and promotes the growth of blood vessels that give nourishment to your baby during pregnancy. If they find your progesterone is low, they will give you supplementation.

I would go. Progesterone levels change with each cycle. Out of my last 4 cycles, I had to do the Progesterone supplements with 1 so you never know.

It's just to catch early if you need supplements! It should be quick- I don't think you need a full day off.
If getting to the office is hard, can you get it done at a Labcorp or Quest?

You can definitely get it done at one of those places. Since I am not local, I did that test at LabCorp - as long as they write STAT on it, they will have the results that day.
