Re: Progesterone Shots
If you're doing them above the butt cheek (intramuscular), then what I would do is actually put ice on the area until I couldn't feel it anymore (for about a half hour). When DH gave me the shot, I didn't even feel it!

it can definitely be sore, yes. I've actually bled a few times. does it hurt really bad? are you sure you definitely got the right spot? I actually had the doctor's office draw targets on my back with pen...this way you know you're getting the right spot for sure.

Re: Progesterone Shots
What I used to do was warm the little bottle of oil in a small bowl of hot water before drawing in into the syringe, which thins it out a little. I would then put a heat pad on the injection site and massage afterwards, it definately helped

this is a good plan...if you think about it===you are icing oil---which turns to like a solid knot under your skin. you can even heat it gently with a hairdryer=massage after. Iif you still fimnd them painful ask for EMLA creme I used it for all my progesterone--it completely numbs the area where you wouldnt feel a darn harpoon! I dk why the use it in the UK and not here..but it works!!!!!!!!!

Re: Progesterone Shots
It does get better....DONT use ice...I find it hurt more after, and it will take longer for the oil to come out.. I use a warm compress. I take a wet washcloth and put it in the microwave for 30 seconds (it will be hot so be careful) put it on the injection site for a few minute, then inject it, it doesnt hurt and the oil goes in much faster.
