I was honored for a call I took and nominated for dispatcher of the year.....I know I should be excited, but all I want to do is take a shower and go to bed

Re: progesterone suppositories
I would call your practitioner and let them know you just got the message and will be starting them right away. Progesterone levels do flucutate up and down from day to day.
As long as you aren't bleeeding Iwouldn't stress to much.
Definitely try and follow up with your practitioner today before the weekend and ask any questions you may have.
I've never used them but from what I hear Have Joe pick you up a BIG box of panty liners..... You will have some LOVELY discharge!

Re: progesterone suppositories
I used them. There are many women who have low progesterone in the beginning and go on to have healthy, uneventful pregnancies. In fact you are already over 8 weeks, right? I stopped taking mine at 10 weeks, so you won't even have to be on them long. Your dr. is just taking precautions. Usually doctors like to see at least 10, but a lower number doesn't mean something is wrong. They are very messy, do definitely use liners. They also might make you more tired and make you boobs more tender. Just try to stay calm.

I know it can be scary, but try not to think about it too much. Have you talked to your doctor? That might make you feel better.
You will feel fine, just the leakage is alittle gross, but not a big deal, you will be able to work and do anything else.

Re: progesterone suppositories
I was on them my entire first trimester because I conceived through IVF. Hang in there and hopefully the suppositories will do the trick!

Re: progesterone suppositories
I've been getting progesterone shots for 13 weeks. I think they cause weight gain, but that's about it. The benefits outweigh the side effects.

Re: progesterone suppositories
I started the shots mid-pregnancy. The weight gain happened slowly over time, but in September I gained 8 pounds alone. It could, however, be attributed to my rediscovery of Entemann's chocolate cake with marshmallow icing.
I had to get the shots because of my short cervix. I had the choice of suppositories, but felt more comfy with the shot. I'm not sure if you'll have the same effects as me b/c I was later in the pregnancy and the dosage might be different.

Re: progesterone suppositories
I took them from weeks 5-12 and had no side effects. Even with the suppositories my progesterone stayed at about 12 until the placenta took over and everything turned out just fine.

Re: progesterone suppositories EDITED***Took my first one
I just posted something similar the other day. I'm 7 weeks today. My progesterone levels dropped from 20 to 15. I was put on suppositories 2 days ago and the script wasn't ready until the next day! I freaked out, called my OB and he told me not to worry.
So I started them last night. No side effects that I know of yet. The ladies on here made me feel soooo much better about the progesterone levels. Many women on here have had low levels and have gone on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies. It's good that your doctor was being proactive and prescribing them early. Good luck to you and I'm sure everything will be fine .

Re: progesterone suppositories EDITED***Took my first one
I was on them for the first 10 weeks and didn't have any side effects. I did have some bleeding during week 9 b/c I took two too close together. It goes fast though, don't worry.
