Projectile vomiting
How far is it really? Sarah didn't really spit up, so I have no idea.
Andy spits up after about half his feedings. At least once a day it shoots out like a fountain about a foot. Is this projectile? My mom says no, it would be across the room.
Just trying to see if this is "normal" spit up or if he's not tolerating the formula and I need to call the doctor about it again.
Thanks.

Re: Projectile vomiting
I'd definitely call that projectile! When Ava spits up, it just dribbles down her chin, so compared to that (and that seems to be the norm for all the babies I've ever known, which is a lot), I'd say he has projectile spitting up.

Re: Projectile vomiting
That is projectile. NOONE can vomit across the room unless you are in the Exorcist.

Re: Projectile vomiting
Thanks, that's what I thought, but I was second guessing myself when my mom said it would shoot even farther.

Re: Projectile vomiting
Def projectile. Gianna has puked from in my kitchen and it landed in the hallway about 1-2 feet from where I was holding her, otherwise it either dribbles down her chin or comes out about a 2 inches tops.

Re: Projectile vomiting
I would also say that it is projectile -- projectile to me is anything that comes out with force and isn't just a dribble. Occasionally I do think it's normal -- but if it happens often then I think it's worth mentioning to the doctor.
