PSA about my New Years surprise
I haven't had a chance to post this till now but on New Years Eve two cars at my house were burglarized. They were both on my property but unlocked. My car had two full shopping bags of clothes brand new that needed to be exchanged(about $300)-all stuff I bought my son for christmas that was the wrong sizes, plus all the change in my console, some mail & other stuff I'm not even sure about. My son's truck had a check book, ID, and a PSP & a bunch of games stolen. We were home & there were other cars in the driveway that were locked. I made a police report & was sure it was kids from my own neighborhood. I was contacted by the police yesterday because they caught the guy & wanted me to try to ID some of the stuff they found in his car. He is not from my neighborhood, he lives in Centereach(a few towns away) they have over 40 reports of cars he stole stuff from in Lake Panamoka & wading river over two days. He is a known drug user & had $150 in COINS in his car. Plus digital cameras, Ipods, wallets, credit cars that he used & lots of other stuff. Unfortunatly, I could not ID anything as ours, but they said more stuff still might turn up.
I just wanted to remind everyone that there are a lot of dirtbag a-s-swholes in this world that need to STEAL for drug money, its disgusting! The whole thing really ruined our New Year. So, lock your doors!!!

Re: PSA about my New Years surprise
I have learned from experience, not only should you always lock your car, even if it's in your own driveway, but also - never leave bags or anything of value in visible in the car.
Sorry this happened to you!

Re: PSA about my New Years surprise
Wow, I live in Centereach and someone on my block had their car broken into... I wonder if it was the same person.
