Thank you for sharing this.I always check, esp blister packs, even meds for my dogs. You just never know.
Threaten to sue...now your DD has to endure blood tests???? This is all their fault, error or not, she is going to have to endure extra tests, etc...
ETA- How many of the wrong dose pills did she actually take? And were they all on one sheet, or two seperate sheets, or all seperate from the start? I am trying to picture what happened so I can be more vigilant myself.
She took 10 days worth so 10 pills. They had all the blister packs separated so they weren't on a sheet.. all individually sealed pills just thrown into a bag so all I had to do was reach into the bag and grab one...
the MAIN reason I caught the mistake was that the DR was having us give her half of the pill in the morning and half in the evening and I was cutting them between the number 3 and 0 which I though was just an identifying number of the pill. When I went to cut the pill on Saturday am there was a 1 and a 5 not a 3 and a 0 and that's when I realized the error and went through all of them.....

WOW - i'm so so sorry!!!
there was a just a segment on prescription medicine mess-ups on CNN the other day. the reporter was saying that when you get an rx filled, read the bottle, take out the medication IN FRONT of the pharmacist, ASK them what the dr prescribed and ask them if that is what they gave you. it was like a long 5 minute ordeal that i was like wow really? but the whole point was that people screw up and you have to take charge and make sure you're not in harm.
omgosh i'm so sorry this happened to lexi...when will she be out of the blue?

thanks for the very important post....its something we take for granted....but everyone makes mistakes and we have to double check for ourselves and our kids....you porb just saved someone on here! - so sorry you have to go through it though!

That's horrible.
I have to say though, I am also not surprised about CVS. I went to buy DS Baby GasX, and luckily I checked the expiration date, because it had expired in 2007 
It was the only one left on the shelf, so I told the store manager..he didn't seem to care. So I wrote a letter to corporate, and they wrote back quickly apologizing and saying that the issue would be dealt with. Granted, it was only GasX, and I don't think anything would have happened, but I was thinking what if it was something else, and what if I didn't check?? Bottom line..now I check everything..we can never be too careful.
I hope everything is okay with Alexa.

I get FURIOUS when I hear things like this. When I go to the doctor, and he gives me the results, I always ask to actually see the results b/c I know mistakes happen a lot. I am glad you caught the mistake and I hope that CVS gets what they deserve!

that is really scary - I am sorry you are going through this.
When I had my DD my pharmacy gave me the wrong BC pills. They gave me the regular pills even though I was perscriped the mini pill. I didn't realize it right away, but when I did realize it the pharmacist thought I was crazy - he insisted he gave me the right thing.
I called my OB who was horrified. She took all his info and filed a complaint with the state. (That is what I think you should do - talk to your dr about it).
Strangely enough - a month or two later they pharmacy just shut down out of nowhere. I have always wondered if maybe there were other problems as well.
