PSA: Alone with your DC in parking lots...
My dh just told me something that happened to his friend's wife. She was finishing up shopping the other day with her infant, and she was loading groceries into her car. A man was hiding behind her car and put a gun to her head, telling her to take the baby and get the helll out of the way. He proceeded to steal her car, leaving her and dc behind thankfully. She's scared to death now because she left her purse in the car with alllll of her personal information in it - credit cards, driver's license with address, money, etc. and she's freaked that he'll come back to her house and retaliate. She's going as far as wanting to move to another house she's so scared. They haven't caught the guy yet, and I think they are staying with family in the meantime.
Be as careful as ever with going to your car with DC after shopping, etc. If you're anything like me, you're probably preoccupied with getting items into the car and keeping dc safe, and you might not be thinking about who may or may not be hiding near your car. Keep your eyes open, as you all probably do already, and be careful!

 i agree always be alert....
when i was a baby- 26 years ago- my mom got carjacked at knifepoint- she had to get the guys to let her get me out of the carseat as she had just strapped me in

omg, thats so scary, where did that happen? i always think about that when i am out alone with ds. i feel like we are more of a target. i try to keep an eye out, but its so easy to be distracted when u shop and are getting the baby and bags into the car, etc.

Where did this happen? Thank god they're ok.
I always have hated how on the vehicle registration that you're supposed to leave in your car at all times, it shows your address. I've never understood that...not to mention our license, etc in our purses.
That's very scary what happened to them.

this scares me so much.
i had seen a show on TV last summer about this happening to a few moms in FL and ever since then I have been terrified.
thankfully she was able to get DC out of the car and they are both safe.

Very scary!
I had a scary moment in a parking lot last week, it was nothing other than my own paranioa, but it definately made me think about being more aware of my surroundings.

omg that is terrible ~ I am always freaked by this thought and I am just a paranoid person ~ (sorry it became your friends wife's reality) I would be freaked to live in the same house etc until this person is caught. I hope they catch him soon give to your friends wife. Thank goodness he left them behind.
