PSA!!!!!!!! Cooking with honey? JUST SPOKE WITH PED ABOUT THIS!

Does anyone know the rules? I know that babies can't have honey directly due to botulism, but what if there is honey in a recipe that is either baked, or cooked on the stove? Can the baby have that?

Re: PSA!!!!!!!! Cooking with honey? JUST SPOKE WITH PED ABOUT THIS!

the reason why I asked is b/c with the holidays approaching, and the fact that my daughter eats meats from the table, there is bound to be honey used on some of the meat somewhere - like a honey glazed ham or something.... KWIM?

My ped told me no honey at all - so I took that as cooked or uncooked - so I stayed away from anything with it.

A lot of cookies have honey in them though.
Like teddy grahams for instance, my DD has ate thoseChat Icon

She is 18 months, but I guess I would still rather stay away from it.

Ugh...I forgot about this. We had a baked ham for dinner a few nights ago and gave it to Rylan. I'll have to remember!!

I was told no honey cooked or uncooked before age 1.

After age 1 i got the green light and i use it for sore throats and coughs, and as an occasional treat on some apples.
