PSA: If your DC has a diaper rash that just won't go away, think of this!
so DS has had a diaper rash for several weeks. it looked exactly like yeast. we treated it with THREE different antifungal creams, and it made either no difference or made it worse.
finally my ped suggested that it could be a strep infection in the anal area. he prescribed antibiotics, which we started giving yesterday morning.
now, less than 48 hours, the rash is almost completely gone!
it's not too common, but just something to think about if you're faced with a stubborn diaper rash...

DS has had one for what seems like forever and we've tried 4 creams and been to a derm (who had the worst bedside manner EVER). this feels like it's been going on for months. that's it, i'm going back to the ped... thanks!
