PSA: Landscapers

If you are thinking of hiring a landscaper, make sure you have them do your lawn once or twice before signing a contract. I'm finding it's not enough to see how they do other lawns.

We had one come twice so far--the first time there were some patches in the front that were too short. Overall we thought they cut the grass too short. So I call the owner to complain. He said they will cut it higher this week.

Today I come home to find it shorter still, and we are now need reseeding in a few places!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon There is one big patch that looks as if no grass grew there recently, yet before this service came it was lush and green.

They do several of our neighbors and we looked at their lawns closely--things looked good. So I'm not sure what the problem is here, but we won't be signing. I'm hoping they'll reseed for free, but if not, we'll drop them and cut our losses before our lawn is gone.

So, try them out before signing! I'm really glad we didn't sign yet.

good to hear you didn't sign with them already. I would see if they will reseed for you, but it might be too hot to do that right now. I would try to hire someone else or maybe even go down to Hick's (I know you love it there) and talk with someone in the grass department. GL!

Ditto, you shoudn't need to sign a contract with a landscaper.

Fire him and move on..........

I fired mine and do it myself.
