PSA: movie - Watchmen

If you have something better to do with 3 hours of your life - please do not go see Watchmen Chat Icon If you DO want to - do not read below...

DH and I went to a 6pm show last night and got out at 840...from beginning to end the storyline confused us. The acting was terrible. One of the main characters is naked the entire time and his ding dong is in full view. There were some extremely graphic & violent scenes, including a very graphic sex scene - and there were a lot of kids in the theater bc I guess people figured it's a superhero movie. People actually got up and walked out.

Just wanted to warn you guys!

I saw Watchmen. It wasn't the best movie I've ever seen but I didn't dislike it like you did. I thought it was entertaining for what it was. But I tend to really get into 'graphic novel' type films. Yes, there were definitely some things that surprised me like the graphic sex scene you spoke about, but as far as the violence is concerned - that I expected.

Watchmen is rated R. Those parents shouldn't have had their kids in their in the first place.

If you haven't read the book or any of A Moore's other works stay home or you will be confused.

Just wait till the 5 hour version comes out on DVD, that should be fantastic.

But we all know that 90% of the parents out there aren't fit to own a dog.

When I saw Batman Forever the dingbat in front of me had he 5 year old son with her. Needles to say he cried the first hour of the movie, at that point her brain turned on and they left

I saw it Friday night. It wasn't the best movie in the world, but it definitely wasn't bad. Some of the scenes were a bit graphic, but it was a rated r movie and it wasn't any worse than what DH describes Friday the 13th was like.

The only reason I would go and see it if DH wants to. Otherwise NEVER. I heard very conflicting opinions about it some people loved it and some really hated it.

It did seem to drag at certain parts. Especially the scenes with Dr. Manhattan.

DH got me to read the book last month, and I surprised myself by really loving it. It was so complex and layered; not like the superhero comic I was expecting. So I'm looking forward to the movie.

From what I hear, the filmmakers were really faithful to the book - and that would definitely mean periods of non-action, philosophical talk, and lots of gore and nudity - so I can see how if you weren't expecting that, you'd be really surprised and unhappy!

I saw it last night with DH. he liked it a lot, but it definitely does not rate hight up there with Iron man, batman and those kinds of movies. I thought it was just ok. Didn't hate it, didn't love it. It was confusing at times and some of the scenes were very graphic.

the movie was pretty good. i didn't think it was confusing but it would have to have been a 6 hour film to be complete.

i'm sick of seeing kids in the theater for these types of movies. happened during the dark knight - it's rated R for a reason. a kid's not going to grasp the subtext of the film nor should they be exposed to the violence or sex.
