When you buy outdoor garbage cans to put at the curb I strongly recommend square ones.

Over the past week 3 of my neighbors lost their garbage cans because they rolled/blew down the street. We have square ones and no matter how hard the wind is blowing the worst that happens when they are empty is that they fall over. Otherwise they never move and inch.
