I have heard of it...what do you want to know about it? The cause is unknow although it is more common in woman. It often presents with bad headache/migraine and visual changes. It can cause edema in the optic disk which left untreated can lead to vision loss. It is usually diagnosed by ruling out all other diseases. Often a lumbar puncture is performed to look for increased pressure in the spinal fluid. It is generally treated with medication.

how much do you know aboiut this an pregnancy?
my first occurance was 2008 from birth control went on diamox for a bit then got off all was well then i got pregnant and it reared its ugly head and was told i had a very good chance to loose my eyesight and to terminate. i was under the guidance of a horrible doctor.
i am now on going in NYC and found a wonderful man at Cornell. we are just very nervous.

I am not an expert at all but I do know there are ways to manage it during pregnancy. I do not think you need to terminate your pregnancy but preservation of optic nerve and vision are real concerns. Have you gone to an opthamologist and had testing done? They will be able to assess if there is any edema and see what damage if any has already occurred. The opthamologist I used is going out on medical leave on Tuesday or I would give you his info...He is really good. Most treatment includes medication...you may want to discuss medication use with a high risk OB/GYN they will weigh the risks and benefits and discuss them with you. It is normal to be nervous but it sound like you have found a better doctor to help you through this. Good Luck!
