i am assuming (probably way off) that most people place their mouse over the figure and somehow the site can trace it. i tried it w/o using the mouse 3x w/ 3 different symbols and and worked each time

eta: tried again 2 more times and it was wrong.

ok i just noticed something.............
everytime you "try agian" the symbols change.
i originally did the symbol for 63. then i did it again and the symbol has changed.

when you follw the rules that it gives you, 99, 98, 97 down to 90 will all add up to 81. 89, 88-80 will all add up to 72... and the same goes for all the number groups. Then, if you look at what 81,72, etc- they all have the same symbols
