Public Service announcement
I was at Hershey Park this weekend and as we were walking out of the park there was a little girl no more than 2 years old walking with us (we were 6 adults and 3 kids). She was obviously not with her parents or guardians, as she was mixed in with our group.
I stayed with her for a minute to see if anyone was looking for her..........
FINALLY after about 2 minutes, 2 women and another kid in a stroller about 100 feet ahead of us turn around and oh so casually start looking for this girl, whom DH was standing in front of, so they couldn't see her. They finally saw her and just called her over, like it was no big deal.
SOMEONE COULD HAVE PICKED THAT GIRL UP AND WALKED BEHIND THE ROW OF BUSSES PARKED AND SHE WOULD BE GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was so mad, DH and I started making really loud comments about how stupid they were and how lucky that little girl was.
Just a word of advice, people go to these parks just to prey on these stupid people and their poor kids.....keep your eyes on them at all times.....

Re: Public Service announcement
im sure im preaching to the choir, but seriously i find it appalling how some people just cant keep an eye on thier kids
there are major sickos out there in this day and age
parents need to watch their kids more. i understand kids are inquisitive etc. but parents need ot keep a very close eye.
ive come across many kids just wandering around.

I hate to say it but sometimes I see kids on these child leashes..at first I was appalled but I bet those kids don't get lost.

Re: Public Service announcement
I'm not a fan of leashes for kids, but I think there is a happy medium between leashing your child and completely not paying attention to them.
I was on line at Children's dept. of Macy's in Great Neck and there was a little girl hanging out by the register. I figured her mom was online, but then it was my turn, and the girl was still there. The clerk and I are talking loudly about this poor girl and where are her parents. Then a woman pops out and calls her daughter, but doesn't move any closer to her. Like shopping is more important than keepign her eye on her kid. I shudder to think what would have happened if a predator was there....

Re: Public Service announcement
I am a mom of 2 young boys and I could NEVER imagine taking my eyes of of either of them for a second in a public place...never mind in a theme park where there are thousands of people!! Some may call me overprotective (namely, my mother), but I am on top of my kids in my own backyard (which is completely fenced in, can't be seen from the street, in a great neighborhood {though bad things can happen anywhere}, and is totally private). There are crazies out there and I would do all I can as a mom to keep my boys safe!!
