pump & dump?
if i want to have wine with dinner but am bfing. do i just pump right after i drink it and throw it away? what if i don't bump but give DD a bottle until the next a.m.? is that ok? i'm not sure how the pump/dump works.
i have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks too and would like to have a drink or 2 so i'm planning on pumping and giving DD bottled breast milk which we do overnight anyway so DH can feed her too.

In 3 months I've only dumped once when I had 3 big mudslides at a BBQ. I hear 1-2 drinks is fine just pump b4 you drink & then wait a number of hours b/4 you pump again.

one glass of wine is fine. you dont have to pump and dump that. If u have more than 2 you should wait 2 hours before you feed DC. I only dumped once.

According to Kellymom.com there is no need to pump and dump ever. As long as you don't *feel* your booze, it is safe to BF. As your body processes the alcohol it leaves your system. Alcohol is not stored in BM.

This is what I was told and read in many places. Alcohol is fine, but wait at least one hour per drink to feed.

When I BF, I had a glass of red wine at least 4 nights a week with dinner. My doc said that it was fine. Pump or BF right before starting to drink and then give yourself a couple of hours before BF, it'll be fine. By then, the amount of alcohol that makes it into your milk is miniscule. In 11 months, I only pump and dumped once and it's b/c I went to the wineries....I drank a lot that day.

You can have 1 drink and nurse per my Dr.
I've already had 2 glasses of wine and nursed. I nurse after 2 beers as well. Anything more and I will pump and dump...If I drink heavily I'll pump and dump 3 or 4 times depending...which I've only done once so far It breaks my heart to dump my milk!!
