pumping question????

I just started pumping and was wondering how often I should do it (I pump on one side as Samantha feeds o the other currently!) - how much should I be producing in one session? (Samantha is a little over 4 weeks right now) Also, is it too early for her to take a bottle "over the boob" for a feeding, I know dh would love to take part but doesn't want it to effect her latching on - will she be confused, like I read so much about or is it ok??

4 weeks is the perfect age to introduce a bottle. Actually you should def. do it soon because sometimes if you wait too long they will refuse the bottle altogether. I introduced a bottle to Maddie @ 3weeks and she has no problem taking boob or bottle now. Your body only produces how much she needs so whatever you produce from pumping is what is good for her.

DD is almost 6 weeks old, I have been pumping and storing a little for 2 weeks now, just pumping 1x a day to start off. She isn't take the bottle well she never finishes it, she wants the boob, so i give in, because she screams, but when I have to go back to work, this must be done - the bottle training!

It is hard! She still doesn't take a pacifier, I tried 3 different kinds!

I gave Jordana a bottle at around 4 weels. She had no nipple confusion. She goes from the breast to the bottle and back with no problem. I think its the perfect time.

I would also recommend introducing the bottle soon. My sister waited much longer and her baby doesn't take bottles at all now!
