Pumpkin Dumb Cake Help
I made a pumpkin dump cake last night as a trial, I baked it for a little bit more than it said bc the yellow cake on top was still yellow and when I took it out finally and it cooled the inside was still pretty wet...I thought this was an easy dessert..help what did I do wrong?

Re: Pumpkin Dump Cake Help
I made it tonight for the first time. I actually made two because I work in the morning so I will bring one to work. The recipe called for 50 to 60 minutes at 350. One of the cakes baked for about 70 minutes, and the other probably more than 80. That's what I had to do to get the top cooked through. The bottom (pumpkin) stayed wet, like a pumpkin mousse (the texture isn't mousse, but i can't think of another word to use at the moment), but I just assumed it's supposed to be like that. I would serve with a spoon and some whipped cream. I tested it and it seems very tasty, but I don't think I'd make it again. I always make Paula Deen's pumpkin gooey cakes. I'll return to that next year.

Pumpkin Dumb Cake Help
Exactly, the bottom is more like a mousse, it's more like a crumble than a cake IMO. Perfect served with ice cream or whipped cream. I am making one tomorrow.
