Pumpkin Picking - Harbes Farms
Last year we went to Lewin's but since DD is older, we are thinking of going some place that offers a bit more (hayrides, etc). How is Harbes? Which location is best? And how are they in terms of price?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

NO feedback but I would love to know these questions too! I also wonder if they are open during the week...I can't deal with traffic and big crowds!

Re: Pumpkin Picking - Harbes Farms
Harbes is awesome. We usually go there for pumpkins. But DS is only 11 months old and we didn't need all of the extra stuff they have. We have been to the Mattituck and Jamesport locations. They both have a lot to do. The corn maze is awesome. They have family fun weekends. Check out their website...

Re: Pumpkin Picking - Harbes Farms
We went to Harbes in Aquebogue on Saturday. It's nice and spread out enough that you don't feel too crowded. We bought pumpkins for $.45 a pound. The food was a little pricey but I am sure it's the norm anywhere. Roasted corn was $2.50 an ear and cider was $2.50 a cup. We actually ate before we got there so we didn't eat anything. There were plenty of places to hang out and have a picnic if you wanted to bring lunch or a snack.
They had a pay one price for the corn maze and little car/bikes that older kids could ride on. I believe you could also go on a hay ride for that price. We went to Hanks Pumpkin Town in Water Mill two weeks ago and IMO there was a bit more to do and the price was only $10 and kids under 3 were free. At Harbes we didn't do the "pay one price" we really just went for the pumpkins.

THANK YOU for the feedback! They both look like great places. Is Pumpkintown located by the Watermill Caterers in Smithtown?

Re: Pumpkin Picking - Harbes Farms
We went to Harbes in Mattituck this past weekend. There are practically NO pumpkins on the vine left to pick. They have a ton of pumpkins that are already picked that you can buy, but they are already "picked."
Nonetheless, its super cute- and we had a BLAST there!
