purchasing private health insurance-any suggestions
dh is an independant contractor for a school district and does not have health insurance. if i dont work full time then i cant get benefits so we are looking into buying our own health ins. does anyone do that on here and have suggestions for afforable family plans?

I had personal insurance through Oxford like 10 years ago and it was like $300 a month for just myself. I don't even wanna think about the rates you would find for a family these days.
Pray for a public option from the government.

there are plans for self employed
it might be worth it for him to incorporate himself- for tax and insurace reasons
I would speak to your accountant

We have HIP and we pay, i believe, $950 a month for family plan. $30 copay $50 copay for specialist. No referrals. Alright prescription

We have a high deductible family plan through DH's business and the local business association. It's 464 a month. with a 10,000 deductible
