Pushed to 5dt. How many to transfer?
I had my ER Thurs. They retrieved 12 eggs. Friday I got the call that 10 fertilized. They told me to be on standby for a sun. transfer.
This morning she called and said 2 RE's discussed it with the embryologist and they want to leave the embryos to blastocyst and I will be going in Tues. for a 5 day transfer.
I am very excited!!! I really think we want to transfer two. I have a feeling they are going to push us to transfer one. Even at my consult, they said they would transfer 1, maybe 2 after discussion. I am 31 and we are dx as unexplained IF. I had started to say we really want to transfer 2, but our RE said it was way too early at that time to even discuss it and we would discuss it at the time of transfer.
This is our first IVF. What have you ladies done? Thoughts? Guess I'm just looking to talk this out with someone.

I would definitely do 2 as long as you're not opposed to multiples. I would definitely speak to the doctor and see why they want to transfer one.

No, I'm not opposed to multiples. Honestly, I'd be thrilled with twins. Originally, she mentioned only transferring one because their goal is to have me come home with a single healthy baby. She said that due to my age and dx, my chances were very good of getting pregnant with IVF.
She was saying something about how putting back more than 1 doesn't increase my chance of pregnancy, just increases the risk of multiples.
I just feel like if they only put one back and it didn't work, I would always wonder what if a 2nd one was transferred?
I know I have my heart set on transferring two. Hopefully my RE will agree on Tuesday

I would do 2.
I told my doctor that we did not want to transfer less than 2. We had to check a box saying that we would "consider" selective reduction. Keep in mind that it does not mean that you agree to reduce, it just means that you will consider it should you have high order multiples.

i would def transfer 2. we transferred 2 perfect ones. both implanted, one grew into my  , the other only an empty sac. i wouldnt take the chance with one, especially if you are open to .
