putting up interior walls
looking to divide a room and want to put up a wall. any idea how easy/hard this is? if its best left to a professional (which i think is probably the case...), any idea about cost? recommendations?

I plan on doing this relatively soon at my house. For me, it's pretty easy. Small wall with a pre-hung door. Couple of 2x4s, screw or nail gun, drywall, spackle, paint. Depending on skill level, how long you can work on the project, etc, it should take a day or two. I'm not going to rush it too much, so I'm figuring off and on for two days or so. With spackle and paint drying times included, maybe 3 days.

You have to make it with 2x4's. it's definitely a project for someone that is a more than "a little" handy. Also, not sure what you're doing, but sometimes you need to add an outlet so it is up to code. Just a thought

Yeah, if you're asking these questions, I would hire someone...
You also need the right tools. Nail gun and/or screw gun, circular saw, level, tape measure, spackle knives, etc. If you don't have the tools already, it may cost as much to hire someone as it would be to DIY.
